By accessing or using the ByteEdu platform — including our website at byteedu.in, mobile applications, and any related services — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "Student", or "Mentor") and ByteEdu Technologies Private Limited ("ByteEdu", "Company", "we"). Please read them carefully.
To use ByteEdu, you must:
You may only hold one ByteEdu account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions is a violation of these Terms and may result in permanent bans of all associated accounts.
ByteEdu grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use our platform for your personal educational purposes in accordance with these Terms.
The ByteEdu platform, its content (including but not limited to curriculum, slides, written materials, videos, code samples, and brand assets) are owned by ByteEdu Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and are protected under Indian copyright law and applicable international treaties.
All educational content created by ByteEdu or its mentors remains the intellectual property of ByteEdu. You are granted a personal, non-commercial licence to use this content for the purpose of your learning only.
The code and projects you build during ByteEdu sessions are yours. You own your work. You grant ByteEdu a limited, royalty-free licence to display examples of student work for marketing purposes (e.g., showcasing graduate projects). We will always attribute work to you and will remove it upon your request.
Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide to ByteEdu may be used by us to improve our services without any obligation to compensate you. This does not apply to substantial copyrightable work you create independently.
We make every effort to conduct sessions as scheduled, but ByteEdu reserves the right to reschedule, cancel, or modify sessions due to mentor unavailability, technical issues, force majeure events, or other reasons beyond our reasonable control. We will notify enrolled students as soon as possible.
Live attendance is strongly encouraged for the best learning experience. Session recordings are made available in your dashboard within 6 hours of session end and remain available for a minimum of 6 months.
The core 10-session cohort is free of charge. ByteEdu reserves the right to introduce premium features or paid tracks in the future, with at least 30 days advance notice to registered users.
For any paid features introduced, payments are processed securely by Razorpay. All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and inclusive of applicable GST unless stated otherwise.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your browser when you visit. They help websites remember information about your visit — such as whether you're logged in, your language preference, or items in a shopping cart.
Beyond traditional cookies, we also use similar technologies such as localStorage, sessionStorage, and web beacons (also called tracking pixels). All of these are covered by this policy when we refer to "cookies."
We categorise our cookies into four types based on their purpose:
| Category | Description | Can You Opt Out? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Essential for the platform to function. Includes authentication, session management, and security tokens. | No — platform won't work without these |
| Functional | Remember your preferences such as dark/light mode, language, and display settings. | Yes — but preferences won't be saved |
| Analytics | Help us understand how users navigate the platform so we can improve it. We use Plausible Analytics (privacy-first, no personal data). | Yes |
| Marketing | Currently not in use. We do not run ad campaigns or retargeting. This may change in future with your consent. | N/A — not used |
Below is every cookie and local storage key ByteEdu currently sets, what it does, and how long it persists:
| Name | Type | Category | Purpose | Expiry | Third Party? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
be_session |
Cookie | Necessary | Authenticates your logged-in session. Prevents you from having to log in on every page. | 30 days (sliding) | No |
be_csrf |
Cookie | Necessary | Cross-Site Request Forgery protection token. Prevents malicious websites from performing actions on your behalf. | Session | No |
byteEduTheme |
localStorage | Functional | Stores your dark/light mode preference so it persists across sessions. | Persistent (until cleared) | No |
be_lang |
localStorage | Functional | Stores your language preference (currently EN only; reserved for future use). | Persistent (until cleared) | No |
be_enrol_* |
sessionStorage | Functional | Temporarily tracks which session detail pages you've viewed or enrolled in during your current browser session. | Browser session | No |
_plausible |
localStorage | Analytics | Used by Plausible Analytics to deduplicate page view counts. Contains no personal data — only a random identifier that resets daily. | 24 hours | Yes — Plausible Analytics |
__stripe_mid |
Cookie | Necessary | Set by Razorpay/Stripe on payment pages only. Required for fraud detection during payment processing. | 1 year (payment pages only) | Yes — Razorpay |
Some features of ByteEdu embed third-party services. When you use these features, those third parties may also set cookies subject to their own privacy policies:
You can control which non-essential cookies ByteEdu uses. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled as the platform won't function without them.
In addition to our preference centre above, you can manage cookies directly through your browser settings. Here's how to do it in the most common browsers:
| Browser | How to Manage Cookies |
|---|---|
| Chrome | Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data |
| Firefox | Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data |
| Safari | Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data |
| Edge | Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data |
| Opera | Settings → Advanced → Privacy & security → Cookies |
Some browsers allow you to send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites. ByteEdu respects DNT signals — when a DNT signal is detected from your browser, we automatically disable all non-essential cookies (analytics) for that session.
Because there is currently no universally accepted standard for interpreting DNT signals, our response is to opt you out of analytics tracking only. Strictly necessary cookies for login and security remain active as they are required for the service to function.
